World’s first White Truffle dessert wine premiered on Indiegogo

May 21, 2015 - PRLog -- Palmieri is a family company, which boasts with 500 years of olive oil production tradition, where experience, knowledge and a refined sense of cultivation and pruning of olive trees and pressing of their fruit is handed down from generation to generation.

In 2015 Palmieri used another family tradition to embark on a new adventure: upgrading a family dessert wine recipe in collaboration with experts and renowned chefs, unique flavors were blended together to create three unforgettable sensory experiences - Refosco desserts with honey, vanilla and white truffle.

“In accordance with our tradition only the best ingredients were chosen to become a part of the premium products – Refosko wine from Primorska region, Slovenian honey, bourbon vanilla stocks and finest Italian white truffle,” explained the company’s representative Klara Klaj.

While the basic blend provides a smooth taste which infuses the pallet with a soft and intoxicating honey flavor, the vanilla blend brings out playfully sensations. With a softer bouquet, the delicate nature of the vanilla lends its nature to enhance the original fruity Refosco taste.

Sensory delight, harvested

“The wines embody Palmieri's core value of searching for a perfect synergy of respecting tradition and enriching it with culinary inventions,” the company stated at the campaign launch.

They take most pride in their white truffle dessert wine, which is the first of it’s kind in the world. Since white truffle in in high regards among gourmets, they believe it will be the most sought after product of the campaign.

“I never believed I could make a product that would be so different and fascinating. It is amazing because it is unique and unobtrusively pleasing,” said renowned pastry chef Gorazd Potočnik, who helped co-create the recipes.

Slovene culinary innovations are premiering on crowdfunding site IndieGogo, where the wines are on offer at a special promotional price. Refosco wine with honey and with vanilla are available for 20 dollars per bottle, while the campaign supporters can get the prestigious white truffle by pledging 25 dollars.

“We believe our products will satisfy even the most demanding gourmets and that they will bring Slovene cuisine to the world,” stated the company’s representative. The first goal of the pre-sale campaign, which will last until June 19th is to raise 3000 dollars.
