Perseverance, Persistence Pay Off For Investment Advisor Roger Hudspeth And Ever-Growing Clientele

Partner in Virginia Beach/Port Saint Lucie, FL Based Dominion Investment Group Loves To Impact Life’s Milestones And Help Clients Get Their Financial Houses In Order

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - May 20, 2015 - PRLog -- Many successful Americans love to draw on quotes from the likes of Jefferson, Lincoln and JFK when they talk about their personal inspiration, but Roger Hudspeth (http://dominioninvestmentgroup.com/wp/?page_id=5374) -  Partner in the Virginia Beach/Port Saint Lucie, Florida based Dominion Investment Group - has throughout his life and career taken to heart a powerful saying by the less quoted Calvin Coolidge. The 30th President was a fellow Phil Gamma Deltan whose words were well known by everyone in Hudspeth’s fraternity when he was attending Old Dominion University in Norfolk.

“Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence,” Coolidge said. “Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan ‘Press On’ has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.”

Growing up, the Portsmouth, VA native’s mother started her own children’s clothing store and worked another job while raising him and his three brothers. Her example led him to dream of being his own boss.

Hudspeth and Daryl Bank, his partner in Dominion Investment Group (http://dominioninvestmentgroup.com/), were fully immersed in this Coolidgesque philosophy in the late 2000’s. They went entirely independent following several years of associations with various large banks. The economy was slowing down followed by the crash. At the time, the firm was just Hudspeth and Bank in a small Virginia Beach office, offering financial services. But the two decided to ‘Press On’ and take the opposite approach of every other financial firm. While everyone else seemed to be preparing for the worst as the Great Recession began, they focused on expansion.

Hudspeth, along with Bank, has developed Dominion Investment Group into a multi-faceted company that includes divisions for insurance, advisory services, estate planning, tax preparation, trust services and, most recently, investment grade diamonds.

The Port Saint Lucie office houses the trust, tax and investment banking arms of the company. The insurance and advisory services are based in Dominion’s Norfolk and Virginia Beach offices. Dominion now has 22 offices in a dozen states across the country, in addition to close to 50 full time employees and over 250 financial sales people and reps that work with the company. Hudspeth himself works directly in Hampton Roads as well as three offices, located in three different counties in Florida.

“We have expanded an incredible amount compared to what I might have ever expected when I joined forces with Daryl,” he says. “Yet the attitude we have taken since day one is that we are a boutique firm. As we grow, we want to make sure we offer a boutique like approach with customized services for our clients.  We do not fit the client to the investment, we fit the investment to the client. That’s what sets us apart, offering everything that the big brokerage houses offer along with specialized services they don’t offer.”

According to Hudspeth, one of Dominion Investment Group’s running “themes” these past few years has been the metaphor of a “financial house.” He, his partners and their advisors look at each client’s financial situation like a house in which every room represents a different element of the big picture. There’s the “IRA room,” the “401(k) room,” the CD room, the Social Security room, stocks and bonds room, etc. “It’s very easy to get a bigger house, the problem is knowing which door to open at which time in retirement.”

Along those lines, Dominion’s success has led Hudspeth’s partner Bank to hosting a weekly syndicated radio show “Putting Your Financial House in Order.” For the past four years Hudspeth has appeared regularly on the show, giving tips and discussing topics related to Dominion’s services. It is broadcast in four markets in South Florida and Hampton Roads, and syndicated in over 30 more stations nationwide, with 25 more to come by the end of 2015. The consumer driven program addresses regular people dealing with their financial lives, things like IRAs, tax planning, college planning, investments, insurance, Veteran benefits, buying and leasing cars.
