5th Bengaluru International Short Film Festival, 2015 August 28-30, 2015

BANGALORE, India - May 20, 2015 - PRLog -- It’s that time of the year when the Bengaluru International Short Film Festival calls for participation. The festival, organised by Suchitra Film Society is set to take place between August 28 and 30, 2015. The four year old festival has come to establish itself in the Bengaluru calendar as well as in international film circles.

Looking back

The previous editions of the festival were made successful with great collections of shorts each year. BISFF 2014 received over 500 submissions from around 55 countries. Of the 200 odd shorts that were screened, around 50 filmmakers were present at the three day festival, to be part of an effort to better understand the medium of film.

5^th BISFF, 2015

This year, we have already received a staggering 2670 submissions under both Student and Non Student categories.  A larger part of this is from outside India and a fair number of films are from across the country, varied in language and subject.

We’d like to take the 5^th edition of BISFF to the next level, with greater quality content, technical innovations, and newer perspectives in storytelling.  And in this endeavour, we call for greater participation especially from local talent and enthusiasts.

Last date for submissions

The last date for submitting films for all categories is June 30, 2015. The films are to be submitted online along with completed application forms.

·         Submission fees from April 1^st to May 30^th would be rupees 500

·         Submission fees from June 1^st to June 30^th would be rupees 1000

Rules and Regulations

Genre: Only fiction short films are accepted

Running Time: 30 minutes or less. No exceptions. Running time includes end credits.

Formats: Video Link (any digital format)

Production Country: All

Submissions will be considered in two categories: Student / Non Student

Production Year: The film must have been produced after January 1, 2014 for all competitions (except for the Bangalore Heroes section).

Language: All languages are accepted. English subtitles are required for all submissions, except for English language movies.
