LONDON - May 19, 2015 - PRLog -- When you’re an IT Rock Star, your CV deserves to be noticed. You have the skills, dedication, and experience to master any challenge, making you an ideal candidate for many prestigious, high-paying jobs. Unfortunately, it’s all too easy for your CV to get lost in the shuffle. IT is an increasingly crowded field, and HR has to sort through dozens, if not hundreds, of resumes. Even getting to the point where a real person will actually see your resume is increasingly difficult. Here are some tips for writing a compelling CV to get the IT job you deserve.

● Include relevant keywords. When you apply for jobs online, they go through software that screens out most of the applications, in order to try to narrow it down to the most qualified applicants. Unfortunately, these algorithms often rely on certain keywords.

● List your skills. In IT Jobs (http://www.hwselect.com/), this can include computer repair, software programs, coding languages, and more. Prospective employers will be looking for a certain skill set, so make sure to include things that qualify you for the job you’re looking for.

● Talk about specific projects that you worked on. Employers aren’t only interested in where you worked or who you worked for. They want to know what kinds of projects you were involved in.

● Talk about extraordinary accomplishments and value you provided to former employers. Everyone’s done something at a previous job that went above and beyond. Talk about a breakthrough you made, a creative solution you came up with, or a problem that you were able to fix. Furthermore, discuss the value that those accomplishments provided to your former employer or client.

● Keep it as short as you can, while still covering all of your bases. Employers and Human Resources professionals only have so much time to read through peoples’ resumes, and they have to wade through dozens of them. Don’t write too much content about yourself, your work history, et cetera. A brief professional summary is fine, but they don’t need your entire life story.

● Use nice fonts, and make sure it’s written well. Use a font that looks nice for your CV. It looks more professional and catches the eye better than something bland and basic like Arial. You should also proofread your resume before you submit it. If you need to, you can even hire an editor to take a look at it for you.

● Tailor your resume to the job you’re applying for. Instead of sending the exact same resume out to each job opportunity, consider tailoring your resume to each individual position. Move things around so that the relevant skills and experiences are the most prominent. It only takes a few minutes, and it can make a difference in whether or not you get noticed.

These ideas can help you in writing a compelling CV to get the IT job you deserve. No qualified, experienced professional should be overlooked because of an unappealing resume. A good CV makes it much easier to get noticed by HR, greatly expanding your chances of getting the great job you’ve always wanted.
