Picture AAC app version update released in Apple App Store

Hearty SPIN (http://www.heartyspin.org/),, who designed and developed Picture AAC app, has just released an updated version of the app. The new version 1.3 has been updated for compatibility with newer iOS 7.x and 8.x versions running on iPhone/iPad/iPod touch.

For speech impaired individuals, inability to express themselves effectively can be highly frustrating. The app enables them to overcome the challenge of making their needs known to others by using simple to understand pictures.

Hearty SPIN took in the feedbacks of speech language pathologists who they collaborated with and added a new Core Vocabulary group in this version update. The new Core Vocabulary pictures will expand significantly the scope of needs and thoughts that Picture AAC users can express. The core vocabulary words represent over 95% of the total words used by toddlers based on the study conducted by Banajee, M., Dicarlo, C., & Stricklin, S. B. (2003).
