Monsoon inspirations for diamond design

“Whoever said sunshine is pure happiness has never danced in the rain.”

iI’s that time of the year when spring is tantalizing us with bits of beautiful, warm sunshine, green grass, and blooming flowers. Just when you think that the sun is here to stay… it rains! While the rain is here, try to find the beauty in it. It’s easy, under the spell of springtime, to curse the rain and begin singing my age-old-childhood-favorite, “rain, rain, go away!” But it’s all about perspective. The rain brings more joy than gloom. The magical monsoons have inspired the ever-loving Bollywood romances with duet songs and mystical beats.

Ever observed the falling raindrops on your car’s window pane? The random path traversed by the drops on the glass plate becomes the inspiration for my design. As rain falls in torrents, I use lines of diamonds in my creations. Then flowing rainwater meanders along the slopes to inspire more designs. Raindrops of varying sizes give rise to pearl drops, gemstone briolettes & diamond studded bulbs. Enjoy the monsoons with jewellery inspired by the rains.

These lines inspired by the falling rain are studded with shimmering, glittering and the purest of diamonds, making you feel unique as soon as they touch your skin. The procession of diamonds moving along your neckline will bring out the woman in you. The delicate earrings twinkling with diamonds will steal the rays of light and add glow to your face. Who needs the sun to make you shine, when diamonds are your best friend?

Silver tends to tarnish, while diamonds and gold lose their luster from all the dirt and skin oils that settle into crevices of the jewellery. If proper care isn’t taken during the rains, chances are you will ruin your valuables, thanks to the dampness in the atmosphere. There are lots of products in the market that promise to clean jewellery, but you can do it easily at home with mild detergent and a soft cloth.

Wear easy to maintain jewellery. Platinum retains its sheen and so it is ideal for daily wear. Avoid jewellery wherein impurities can get clogged. Due to high humidity during monsoon, jewellery with intricate details tends to become dull.

Here are some ways you can store your jewellery during Monsoon:

·         Cover your jewellery using cotton sheets and store it in waterproof pouches/ bags.

·         You can also store your jewellery in a box and use a sponge to surround it. This will help to keep them safe.

·         Storing jewellery with bits of blackboard chalk helps absorb moisture from the air. Use zip lock covers to store the jewellery.

Life isn’t about waiting for the storm, its learning to dance in the rain.

Ice Cube Pendant

Everyone loves the rains forits dreamy quality. But let’s get real. When it comes to taking care of our expensive jewellery, most of us are clueless. So don’t hide away your favourite jewels just because the rains are here. Instead, take note of these tips and make your jewellery withstand the test of the monsoons.
