Cat Training And Behavior Solutions Arrive In Westchester

New Company’s Mission Is to Help Troubled Cats and Their Owners

OSSINING, N.Y. - May 15, 2015 - PRLog -- Earlier this month, Ossining resident Paula Garber launched her cat behavior consulting business, LIFELINE Cat Behavior Solutions, to help cat owners in Westchester and surrounding areas with their cat behavior problems and training needs. A brand-new website and four behavior consulting service packages were unveiled on May 1 at a party for friends, family, clients, and colleagues at the Ossining Arts Council space in the Steamer Firehouse on Main Street.

Cats are the most popular companion animal in the United States. A survey by the American Pet Products Association (APPA) in 2012 showed that there are more than 95 million owned cats, versus 83 million owned dogs, and that 55 percent of cat owners have two or more cats. Yet there is a critical lack of qualified specialists to assist the cat-owning public with training and behavior issues.

According to the Best Friends Animal Society, “Behavior problems are one of the most common reasons that adult cats are relinquished to shelters and, because they’re not as cute as kittens, they are much less likely to find new homes.”

LIFELINE Cat Behavior Solutions is the only cat-focused private behavior consulting service in Westchester County that is owned and operated by a professionally certified cat training and behavior specialist. Owner Paula Garber is a lifelong cat guardian who brings years of practical experience and two professional certifications to her work with cats and their owners. Her work as a Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) volunteer and advocate for community cats in Westchester led to her career in cat behavior as a way to keep cats in their homes.

“There are many misconceptions about cats, and accurate and reliable information about their basic needs and how to accommodate them is hard to find. As a result, behavior problems often persist until the cat is finally turned out, taken to a shelter, or worse,” said Paula Garber. “These drastic measures are unnecessary, because most behavior problems can be resolved. Our solutions are designed not only to solve or minimize behavior problems in cats, but also to improve the bond between cats and their guardians. Everyone wins.”

LIFELINE Cat Behavior Solutions provides private, in-home cat training and behavior consulting services that are customized to meet the specific needs of each individual cat and client. LIFELINE is owned and operated by a professionally certified cat training and behavior specialist, and offers service packages ranging from intensive support and prevention to basic education and training.
