The Travelers Protective Association Presents Altruism Awards

Non-profit agency honors 17 Pennsylvania students for their integrity.

ST. CHARLES, Mo. - May 15, 2015 - PRLog -- The Travelers Protective Association (TPA), a fraternal benefit society, recently honored 17 senior high school students from the Lehigh Valley area at the annual Altruism Awards banquet.  TPA Post L Lehigh Valley is the largest post in Pennsylvania.

Northampton County president Judge Stephen Barrata was the evening’s speaker.  School principals and counselors spoke about every boy or girl and why they deserved the TPA Altruism award.  Each student received $100 plus a certificate and one-year membership to TPA.

“The banquet honors students who exemplify model citizenship and possess a philanthropic spirit,” said TPA’s Chief Administrative Officer Albert M. Shoemaker, Jr.  “This award recognizes those who represent kindness, selflessness and integrity.”

Founded in 1890, TPA’s national headquarters is located at 2041 Exchange Dr. in St. Charles, Mo.  The association is licensed in 29 states and has over 26,000 members, which includes more than 17,000 members who have been a part of the organization for more than 25 years.  TPA offers fraternalism to its members, as well as participates in safety projects and community service.  The association provides accident, disability and death benefits to both its members and their beneficiaries.
