Dominican Sisters of Hope Host First-Ever Spring into Nature and Open House Day!

This all-around family fun event is free and open to the public!

OSSINING, N.Y. - May 14, 2015 - PRLog -- The Dominican Sisters of Hope are throwing open their convent doors to invite people from near and far to join them at  Mariandale Retreat and Conference Center for their first-ever Spring into Nature and Open House Day!  From 12-3 pm on Sunday, May 31st, visitors will have a chance to take guided walks along the Hudson River, walk the on-campus labyrinth, learn American Sign Language from a sister, experience photography and poetry exhibits, plant a flower, learn how to attract butterflies with milk weed, create spring crafts, and enjoy Mariandale’s sprawling grounds overlooking the Hudson. This all-around family funevent is free and open to the public!

For the sisters, the Spring into Nature and Open House Day is one step of many on the road to welcoming others into their lives. The Open House comes after the February launch of the sisters’ new website, www.ophope.org, which is intended to attract a greater audience to the sisters’ mission and ministries. It also coincides with the twentieth year of the congregation’s founding, as well as the 800th year of the founding of the Dominican order. Visitors to the “Spring into Nature and Open House Day” will also have a chance to interact with sisters and learn more about their passions.
