National Black MBA Association announces 45th Anniversary Gala Celebration

CHICAGO - May 14, 2015 - PRLog -- (CHICAGO) -- The National Black MBA Association (http://www.nbmbaa.org)©  (NBMBAA) will host its 45^th Anniversary Gala Celebration on Friday, June 12, 2015 at the Hyatt Regency Chicago. Retired McDonald’s CEO Don Thompson and Amy Hilliard, president of Fashion Fair Cosmetics will be honored at the Gala.  Honorary Chairs for the event are Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle; Stephanie Neely, Vice President of Treasury, Allstate, Chicago City Treasurer Kurt Summers and Tyronne Stoudemire, Vice President for Global Diversity & Inclusion Hyatt Corporation.  The evening will also feature special performances by vocal powerhouse and former The Voice contestant Terisa Griffin and 13 year-old singing phenom Mae Ya!

During the 45^th Anniversary Gala Celebration, the NBMBAA will launch a $1,000,000 endowment campaign to support Leaders of Tomorrow® (LOT) Scholarships that will help the organization continue to be a positive force in the lives of youth in minority communities. The endowment creates a scholarship in perpetuity.

For 45 years, the National Black MBA Association (NBMBAA) has dedicated itself to the promotion of African American intellectual and economic wealth as well as empowerment and professional advancement.   The Association has awarded over $5 million dollars in scholarships to minority students participating in both undergraduate and graduate programs around the world. Today, the organization reaches over 30,000 with 10,000 active members across 46 chapters internationally and 28 collegiate chapters along with 300 corporate partners.

The origins of the NBMBAA can be traced back to a historical 1970, two-day conference held at the University of Chicago. This event brought together prestigious institutions including Harvard University, Northwestern University, Cornell University, Indiana University, Wayne State University, Loyola University and others.
