Humanity Road Announces New VP of Operations

Prior to joining Humanity Road, Aline served as the Disaster Preparedness Coordinator at the Volunteer Center in Tucson, Arizona and as a Community Relations Manager at the American Red Cross.

BOYDTON, Va. - May 13, 2015 - PRLog -- Humanity Road, an innovative and top-rated disaster response public charity, today announced the new hire of Aline Carr as Vice President of Operations.

Humanity Road provides assistance in social media for people and animals impacted by disaster and is supported by volunteers around the world. In 2014 the organization responded to 167 disasters; 57 in the USA and 109 in over 44 other countries across six continents.

“We are fortunate and thrilled to have Ms. Carr joining us in this key role.  She brings a deep understanding of the complex needs we face in today’s world of disaster response” said Cat Graham, Chief Operations Officer for Humanity Road.  “Aline brings to the role more than 25 years in research and qualitative analysis with the past seven years in disaster response and relief operations.  She is an expert in process improvement and program management.”

Ms. Carr joined Humanity Road in September of 2012 as a volunteer and has contributed significantly to the organization, including coordinating volunteers, training and responding to numerous disasters. In February of 2013 she was one of several Humanity Road volunteers invited to the White House in recognition of support provided during Hurricane Sandy. In June of 2013, following devastating tornadoes in the Oklahoma City area, Aline deployed to Moore, Oklahoma where she represented Humanity Road at the Multi-Agency Resource Center to provide survivors with resources to meet unmet needs.  In addition, she helps coordinate Humanity Road’s support for the World Humanitarian Summit.  More recently she has focused on improving Humanity Road’s disaster response procedures and developing response roles based on the Incident Command System.  Aline has a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a Master’s degree in Anthropology from Texas A&M University and lives with her husband in Alamogordo, NM.
