Avionica announces new executive management team

MIAMI - May 13, 2015 - PRLog -- Avionica, the world’s leading aviation data collection and data transmission manufacturer, announced today three senior promotions and the strengthening of the company’s executive management team: Simone Drakes to vice president of engineering, Anthony Rios to vice president of sales and Simone Segredo to vice president of finance.

Simone Drakes, promoted from her role as director of aircraft engineering for Avionica, has 12 years of experience in avionic systems. Drakes guides a team of engineers and manages and coordinates aircraft integration, installation and certification from the Federal Aviation Administration for all of Avionica’s airborne products. Under Drakes’ leadership, Avionica has secured more than 25 Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs), the majority FAA among other global Civil Aviation Authorities and the most of any company in the aviation industry. She is an FAA Designated Engineering Representative (DER) and a graduate of Embry Riddle Aeronautical University with a Bachelor of Science in avionics engineering.

Anthony Rios, previously vice president of engineering for Avionica, has more than 13 years of experience in all aspects of avionics and embedded system products. He also is specialized in the incorporation of airborne technology (Quick Access Recorders, terminal and cabin wireless LAN systems and SATCOM systems) that improves communication, operational efficiency and flight safety. Rios is an FAA certified commercial pilot with a single pilot type rating in Cessna Citation aircraft and holds a Bachelor of Science in computer engineering from Florida International University.

Simone Segredo is an accomplished CPA with 20 years of financial experience. Having joined the Avionica team 18 years ago, she formerly served as controller and director of finance. In addition to her new title as vice president of finances, she is also the head of human resources. Segredo has a master’s degree in taxation from the University of Miami and a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Florida International University. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
