Aurion Learning Director raises over £2000 for Northern Irish Children's Charity at London Marathon

BELFAST, Ireland - May 13, 2015 - PRLog -- On Sunday the 26th April, Ciaran O’Hare, Director at Aurion Learning raised a whopping £2116 for Northern Ireland’s Cancer Fund for Children (NICFC) by competing in the London Marathon.

Ciaran raced past his target of £1600 and crossed the finishing line at an impressive 4 hours, 38 minutes. All of the money raised will be donated to NICFC (http://www.cancerfundforchildren.com/) and used to help families in Northern Ireland who have a child suffering from cancer.

Ciaran’s fundraising efforts are reflective of a long history of giving and volunteering at Aurion Learning. In May 2014, members from the Aurion Learning team formed a relay team for the Belfast Marathon, raising money for Education and Technology charity Camara (http://camara.org/). In June 2014, nine members of the team participated in the Race for Life at Stormont, raising money for Cancer Research UK (http://www.cancerresearchuk.org/).

Speaking about the achievement, Ciaran O’Hare, Director at Aurion Learning said:

“Brilliant non-stop support from the crowd – real carnival atmosphere throughout the race, happy enough finishing 23,894th in what is officially the largest annual fund raising event in the world and most importantly adding my own small contribution on behalf of the NI Cancer Fund for Children, many thanks to all my generous sponsors!”

It’s not too late to donate so if you would like to contribute money to NICFC, visit the official marathon fundraising page (https://www.justgiving.com/ciaran-o-hare1/).
