MINNEAPOLIS - May 12, 2015 - PRLog -- In 2012, singer-songwriter Carey Keavy was approached by a virtual stranger who had heard her music online. To her shock, he wrote her a check for thousands of dollars to help record her first EP, "Distant Lands." Carey's EP will be released on May 30th, and in an effort to "pay it forward" she will be donating 100% of all pre-sale EP proceeds to a local charity, the Sheridan Story, which helps feed hungry children in the greater area of the Twin Cities. Carey explains her reason for giving back in this video: https://vimeo.com/126193536

The Sheridan Story began in North Minneapolis, when it was discovered that children were 'hoarding" their school lunches on Fridays, because many of them ate little to nothing all weekend. This charity helps many children in the Twin Cities by helping to feed them when their government-funded school lunches cannot.

"I love the idea of music being used for good," says Keavy. "The thought of kids right here in our neighborhoods going hungry is heartbreaking to me. It brings tears to my eyes every time I watch the Sheridan Story video. I'm happy to help in any way I can."

Pre-orders for the album can be purchased at www.careykeavy.com. Carey will also be hosting a live online concert on May 30th at 8:00pm CST, and an album release party on Friday, June 5th at Honey, 205 E. Hennepin Ave in Minneapolis alongside Twin Cities' bands, The Last Gold Leaf and Wyatt Overman.
