By: Modern Markets Intelligence Inc.

ROCKVILLE, Md. - May 13, 2015 - PRLog -- Smart Grid Today, the publication of record for the smart grid industry since 2009, today named the 50 Smart Grid Pioneers of 2015, including 11 CEOs or presidents, 15 directors, a former state governor and a White House National Security Council staffer. They are concerning themselves with smart grid development not only in the US but also in Australia, Bahrain, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Denmark, Ecuador, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Ghana, India, Italy, Japan, Kuwait, Latvia, Lithuania, Nigeria, Norway, Oman, Poland, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Sweden, the UK, the United Arab Emirates and Vietnam.

The award is based solely on merit. Neither the winners nor their companies paid in any way to be honored or to be included in the 2015 edition of “Smart Grid Pioneers (http://www.smartgridtoday.com/products/Smart-Grid-PIONEERS-2015.cfm),” an exclusive industry report from Modern Markets Intelligence (MMI), publisher of  Smart Grid Today.

The editors of Smart Grid Today selected the winners from exclusive interviews its journalists conducted over the last 16 months about modernizing the electric grid around the world. The report describes the latest developments and thinking in the industry in discussions with entrepreneurs, executives and managers from smart grid entities including: computer hardware and software firms, electricity distribution automation and demand response firms, electric utility firms, electricity retailers, energy services firms, energy storage companies, electric-vehicle charging firms, global development agencies, IT shops, microgrid firms, national labs, networking firms, power management companies, public advocacy groups, research bodies, security and compliance consultancies, state government agencies, technical consulting and engineering firms, think tanks.

“This is an inimitable collection of interviews with the best and brightest smart grid industry stakeholders succeeding at tackling many of the complexities in digitizing the power distribution world, some of which could barely be imagined just a decade ago,” MMI VP of Editorial Brett Brune said. “These leaders are creating new realities that will have lasting impacts on electric utility operations, grid reliability, renewable energy source integration, EV integration, security and economic competitiveness around the world.”

“The intelligence gathered in this report is on par with what you could gain from attending eight or 10 incredibly well produced, high-level smart grid industry conferences -- if people in the audience were to ask detailed questions and insist on getting answers before they left,” MMI Publisher Sam Spencer said. “That’s what our reporters do -- with sources who are in the know.”
