Denver-based EcoMark Solar Expands

DENVER - May 12, 2015 - PRLog -- While some solar energy companies in Colorado are contracting because of fewer available consumer subsidies, one locally-owned firm, EcoMark Solar, is bucking that trend. The company is expanding, becoming one of the area’s largest solar energy firms based on kilowatt per hour installations. In addition, EcoMark Solar recently moved to a new, 8,000-sq. ft. corporate headquarters at 4665 Paris St. in Denver.

The solar energy company started quietly in 2010 as an offshoot from a local firm that focused on green renovations for residential real estate.

“After several years, we realized that solar panels were one of the most energy-efficient additions to a home so we changed our focus,” explains EcoMark Solar CEO Alex Valdez. ‘We started with a small group of employees and have now grown to 80 staff members who work in customer service, installation and sales.
“We believe that customers should own and not lease solar,” Valdez continues. “The value of a solar system grows as the cost of energy increases year over year. In Colorado, energy rates rise about six per cent annually.”

EcoMark offers systems free of third party interference and encumbrance so if the consumer decides to sell their home, no lease transfer is needed. “The real estate industry is finding that purchased solar systems add value to a home for sale but a leased system may be detrimental because buyers may not want to take on a long-term lease,” Valdez adds.

EcoMark Solar says it approach has been one of a consultant to potential solar buyers. “We compile information about a homeowner’s energy usage, prepare a custom proposal to save them the most money, and then install the option that’s best for them,” Valdez explains. “Today’s solar systems qualify for a 30 percent Federal tax credit that the customer captures and can use as they choose. We offer financing if needed and a 25-year full manufacturer’s warranty that covers all major components. We want to help more people in more communities become energy independent and educate them about how solar can be instrumental in that goal.”
