ATLANTA - May 12, 2015 - PRLog -- As the school year comes to an end in Georgia,  LiceDoctors Head Lice Treatment and Nit Removal Service of Atlanta and Savannah reports that the  incidence of head lice is growing significantly.

According to owner, Karen Sokoloff, "Some people are confused by this trend but, in fact, we see it each year. The weather heats up, classes become a bit more informal with less homework, and kids start to have more play dates and informal get-togethers. This type of socializing allows for more head-to-head contact which in turn facilitates the spread of lice. Mid to end of May starts 'lice season' where the incidence rises meaningfully. We see this trend continue through the early fall."

Sokoloff advised children who play team sports that involve the use of a helmet, such as softball and baseball, to be alert to head lice and to wear their own helmets. Children on gymnastics teams are also at risk as lice may fall onto the mats for other team members to pick up.

LiceDoctors is Georgia's only lice treament service with a medical on staff.  Dr. Stephen Beck created the company's lice treatment protocol 20 years ago after realizing that chemical treatments were failing his patients. Lice had developed a resistance to these products and Dr. Beck studied the life cycle of lice to develop a treatment that would work to kill lice at all stages of their development. Hence was born LiceDoctors all-natural treatment which is fully guaranteed and has garnered an "A" rating from the Better Business Bureau. In order to maximize privacy, convenience, and flexibility for clients, LiceDoctors makes house calls. The company comes to the client's home any  time of day or night when the client needs service.

Sokoloff says that the lenient school lice policies in Georgia may be contributing to the increase in incidence. The Georgia Department of Health recommends that schools allow students with nits to stay in school as long as there are no live lice present in the hair. Atlanta area schools in Fulton, DeKalb, and Cobb counties have all eliminated "no nit" policies and students with eggs may remain in school. Schools in Savannah-Chatham districts have also dropped their "no nit" policies.

Sokoloff reports that many areas have called with incidences of lice including Atlanta, Savannah, Flinstone, Marietta, Oakhurst, Norcross, Decatur, Chamblee, Pooler, and many other locations.

LiceDoctors can be reached in Atlanta at 404-618-0472. and in Savannah at 912-421-2119 or online at www.licedoctors.com. The company has successfully eradicated lice in over 140,000 clients and same day service is available in the convenience of the client's home seven days a week, day or night.
