Hamburg Trading House Commits to ‘Safety First’ On All Operations

JLT, UAE - May 12, 2015 - PRLog -- Hamburg Trading House shows how important safety awareness is in their organization by attending this year’s Tristar Road Safety Training in Dubai. The workshop was launched on the 6th of May. Find out more about it with the details below.

Hamburg Trading House, leading experts in the Marine Industry, now declares ‘safety first’ on all operations after participating in a Road Safety Awareness Campaign. The said training was organized by the company’s logistics provider, Tristar.

Tristar has already received multiple awards, including the Dubai Quality Appreciation Award, in recognition of its extensive internal and external road safety programs. The organization also won the Prince Michael International Road Safety Award.

LET’S GO HOME SAFELY
Hamburg Trading House General Manager Swen Sauerberg and Sales Manager Kamran Azam experienced the workshop firsthand. The training’s slogan ‘Let’s Go Home Safely’ reflects their goal of creating road safety awareness and promoting safe driving practices within the heavy vehicle driver community.

Heavy-duty  drivers are those driving buses, trucks, trailers and tankers, and Tristar explains that accidents from these vehicles can be catastrophic.

Eugene Mayne, Tristar Transport’s CEO, mentioned in a recent interview that “We remain committed to sharing our experiences and international best practices to make the roads safer for all users in the UAE and across the GCC.”

THE SAFETY PARTNERS
Developed in conjunction with RosPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents), the training prepared different activities for those who participated. GM Swen Sauerberg tried the ‘roll over’ test car, in order to experience of how important wearing a safety belt is.

RoSPA is a non-profit organization with around 100 years of experience in managing road safety worldwide. They often stress on improving drivers’ decision-making abilities while on the road.

Hamburg Trading House expressed their gratitude for the training, adding “We very much thank Tristar for this refresher opportunity on road safety as we are convinced about ‘safety first’ not only during all operations for our customers, but also for our private live for instance when driving on the UAE roads.”

The Road Safety Awareness Campaign is also supported by RTA (Road and Transport Authority), which believes in the importance of awareness, targeting sections of the community.

PREVENTING ACCIDENTS
The efforts in organizing the training were actually brought about by two horrific accidents in Saudi Arabia. In 2012, a fuel truck crashed into a flyover, which triggered an explosion damaged an industrial building. Next was a bus accident, which killed 13 workers and injured dozens last year.

Surely, with the combined endeavors of these organizations, more heavy-duty  drivers will be aware of the results of their actions owing to the size of their vehicles. More so, Tristar is committed to disseminating this safety culture to the public.

Mr. Swen Sauerberg of Hamburg Trading House also admits that the workshop has been an eye-opener, convincing him that ‘safety first’ is a must.
