BIDDEFORD, Maine - June 2, 2015 - PRLog -- Film by Artist Salazar:The Four Seasons of the Master Myth

Pubic Broadcasting (MPBN) will air Salazar”s DVD, “The Four Seasons of the Master Myth” on their “Community Films” series: Thursday, June 18th at 9:55 PM; and Saturday, June 20th at 10:55 AM. The “Community Films” air independently produced films, “that showcase diverse people, places and the culture of our region."

Artist Roland Salazar Rose's film “The Four Sessons of the Maser Myth” began its extended film production journey in Portland, Maine, there Salazar founded the non-proft artists' Danforth Gallery in 1987. This nascient twenty-five year film process, along with his painting career went from front burner to back burner, as he also moved from Maine to Mexico.

His “Four Seasons” DVD accompanies his memoir “My Father's Room,” and details on how the book and the DVD can be purchased as a ”BoX Set" on Salazar's Website http://www.salazargallery.com

Jef Taylor, Filmmaker, commented: “The Four Seasons of the Master Myth” captures the thoughts, philosophy, and art of seasoned painter Roland Salazar Rose. Written and narrated by the artist himself, Salazar ruminates on his “Four Seasons of the Master Myth” philosophy and how it ties into his work, particularly the 1000 images he created during his years in Mexico, while video of him painting in his studio in Maine is interspersed with photographs of his work. The four sections of the video each reflect a “season” of Salazar’s life, in which he reads from his memoir, My Father's Room and reflects candidly on his“Four Seasons” with both humor and insight. It is a fascinating and compelling portrait of a man -- Roland – looking back on his life, and an artist -- Salazar -- discussing his life’s work as we watch him create new work, and continue his path through the “Four Seasons of the Master Myth.” See our video http://chiptaylor.com/salazar_master_myth.html

Asked, “Why did you want to include the “Four Seasons” film you produced along with your published memoir “My Father's Room.” Salazar said: “ I knew that an unknown memoir author, and art by a relatively unknown artist was not going to receive much public attention. Yet, I was still determined to complete this body of work. I believe that my art and the “Four Seasons” philosphy: “success in spring; hubris in summer; nemesis in the fall; and death in winter;” suggest to young and old, how we are all searching for 'value' in our lives. In this post 9/11 era, Americans seek their “place;” the “place” that Joseph Campbell writes of so eloquently, where we can be more human.”

There is more widespread public acceptance of multidemensional approaches in delivering a story and presenting art. Recently, new musical compositons are released that include in the performance visual display in the background. Books have been published that have a sleeve in the back cover which has a CD, offered as an enhancement to the published work. Salazar combined words and images in his memoir, and he provides the DVD (the DVD could not be distribued with the book) to help in understanding his art and the philosophy that support his visions.
