READING, U.K. - May 11, 2015 - PRLog -- Reading Scientific Services Ltd (RSSL) is pleased to announce a new online Good Distribution Practice (GDP) driver training course, designed to enable anyone involved in the wholesale distribution of medicinal products to be trained in the requirements of GDP in a convenient and flexible way, regardless of where they are based.

The course has been developed in response to the significant new demands placed on the manufacturers and distributors of pharmaceutical products in the recently introduced EU Guidelines on the Good Distribution Practice of Medicinal Products for Human Use (first published on 8 March 2013 as 2013/C 68/01 and updated on 5 November 2013 as 2013/C 343/01).  Partly driven by the need to prevent counterfeit and falsified medicines from entering the legitimate supply chain, 2013/C 343/01 sets out the necessary requirements to ensure compliance with the Falsified Medicines Directive and also takes account of the challenges presented by new technology and increased globalisation.

Designed specifically for drivers who have a critical role to play in maintaining a safe and secure supply chain, this new certified training course is available online, offering a flexible and cost effective alternative to classroom training.
Focusing on the responsibility of the driver and the important role they can play in identifying and eliminating risk, the course covers all the key requirements of GDP.

On successful completion, participants will achieve certificated status, demonstrating that they have a full understanding of their role and responsibilities for patient safety and the traceability of medicinal products.
The course is an extension to RSSL’s successful industry leading classroom based GDP courses, which include a one-day overview of ‘Good Distribution Practice’ (aimed at Senior Managers or those new to the sector) and the renowned two-day course for the Responsible Person (RP).  The suite of courses available means that RSSL can provide suitable training to meet the needs of employees who are involved at any level of the manufacture and distribution of pharmaceutical products.
