BRADFORD, U.K. - May 11, 2015 - PRLog -- Children from Laisterdyke Business and Enterprise College had a good excuse to eat chocolate during a lesson when they visited York’s newest educational attraction; York’s Chocolate Story.

The educational visit formed part of the school’s English Basics course for Eastern European students new to the UK with limited or no experience of English language and mainstream schooling.

The children, aged 13, learnt about sweet shop favorites such as the chocolate orange and the Kit Kat, as well as how York became the chocolate capital of the UK.

Feeling fully inspired about discovering the origins of chocolate, how to make it, how to taste it like an expert, and even explore the sustainable future of chocolate, the children are now engaging in creative activities to create a diary, poster and presentation about the visit and their experience.

Farzana Hussain, Community Engagement Manager at Laisterdyke Business and Enterprise College says: “It was a fantastic learning experience for all the students, it comes as no surprise they were incredibly enthused, especially when it came to making their own chocolate delights.”
