HeatSpring to Acquire Sustainable Building Advisor (SBA) Program

Acquisition Will Significantly HeatSpring's Sustainable Building Curriculum

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - May 8, 2015 - PRLog -- HeatSpring announced today that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the Sustainable Building Advisor (SBA) Program, a professional certification program for the green building industry. There are more than 1,200 Certified Sustainable Building Advisors in 12 countries around the world.

HeatSpring's acquisition of SBA reflects a continued investment in the high quality education for the high performance building industry. "Our customers are the best and brightest in technical fields like energy, buildings, and space. The SBA program is widely regarded as rigorous and complementary to LEED, BPI and HERS. We’re excited to help shape the future of the high performance building industry by making this program even better." said Brian Hayden, President at HeatSpring. "By bringing HeatSpring and SBA together, we'll be able to build strong partnerships with alumni, instructors, and partner organizations."

HeatSpring will seek input from alumni, instructors, partner organizations, and industry professionals during a 30-day information gathering initiative. "The SBA program will be stronger if everyone has a pathway to participate. We can’t do that alone, so we’re seeking input and participation from a wide variety of folks," said Hayden. Tedd Corman, Director of the SBA Program at Lifelong Education Institute (LEI) said, "We chose HeatSpring as the ideal home for the SBA program because they have a track record of working with lots of partners across the industry. The SBA program requires collaboration and that’s clearly something HeatSpring values at it’s core."

Subject to the completion of customary conditions, the acquisition is expected to close on or around May 15, 2015.
