Follow on Google News | Brooklyn Man Alleges a False Arrest Near His Home in Flatbush - Ditmas Park BrooklynApparently angered that Cliff was recording these incidents with his phone, a male NYPD officer came from Cliff’s left side and shoved him to the side. Next, a female NYPD officer grabbed his right arm, in which he was holding his phone, recording the incidents, and told Cliff, “You’re coming with us.” Cliff was then maced, hit in the back of the head, knee and side by the officers before being handcuffed. He was then placed under arrest and transported to the 70th Precinct for processing, where he spent about six (6) hours. Thereafter, he was taken to Brooklyn Central Booking where he spent about fourteen (14) hours before seeing a judge. At arraignment, Cliff learned that he had been criminally charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and obstructing governmental administration. He was then released on his own recognizance and returned to court two (2) more times before the matter was adjourned in contemplation of dismissal. He seeks damages for an unlawful detention, loss of liberty, emotional distress, fear, anxiety, humiliation, degradation, and physical pain.
