DELHI, India - May 8, 2015 - PRLog -- Farm income drives farm machinery sales. This implies that tire sales will be strong when farmers have higher disposable income. However, over the next two years, it is estimated that net farm income, production expenses, and total planted acreage will fall. The tire market tends to trend with farm net income. US net farm income, a measure of the sector's profitability, is forecast to be US$73.6 billion in 2015, down nearly 32% from 2014's forecast. Also, net farm income would not return to 2013’s record-high levels anytime in the near future. The 2015 forecast would be the lowest since 2009 and a drop of nearly 43% from the record high of US$129 billion in 2013. Lower crop receipts and livestock receipts are the main drivers of the change, as production expenses are projected up less than 1% and government payments are forecast to increase about 15% in 2015. This decrease in return will decrease the disposable income of the farmers thereby affecting the farm tire industry.

China is the center of the universe to the US tire industry. Imports are the main reason for brand proliferation in the US. More than 60 million consumer tires were imported from China alone representing one-quarter of all domestic replacement consumer tire shipments. Exports of US-made farm equipment fell in 2014 by 29% when compared to 2013. A total of US$8.51 billion worth of farm equipment was shipped to global markets. Overall, conditions for the US remained comparatively positive as it was supported by smaller equipment sales.

The use of agricultural tires dates back to early 19th century when traditional ways were abandoned in favor of more productive and functional rubber tires. The growing need for automation in the succeeding years due to growing demand for agricultural produce and evolving farm equipment led to several improvements in the technology of tires. Modern tires are designed to deliver maximum performance and are highly fuel efficient. In addition, other new technologies used in the manufacturing of farm tires have resulted in increased load capacity and improved flexibility resulting in less soil compaction. The farm tires can be categorized on the basis of construction types: Bias and Radial.
