LOS ANGELES - May 7, 2015 - PRLog -- Emerging Austin-based lyricist, Thelonious Love has announced the release of his debut EP titled, No Other Love Alive. A timely project that includes his increasingly popular single, "Though They Try," featuring Star Amerasu, the record is a call to action to live better, recalling images of Malcolm X. With nineties hip hop stirred into Theo's larger worldview, his lyrical messages are reminiscent of Saul Williams, Andre 3000 and Common. No Other Love Alive is available at music retailers everywhere.

Produced by Dobla Vay for Jurnt Entertainment, N.O.L.A. is a musical canvas that poetically expresses Thelonious Love's quest for equality and true freedom of expression. Known for his soulful thought-provoking lyrics and desire to connect with the others through music, Theo aims to change and remove the common misconceptions, stereotypes and judgements that exist in many of today's communities.

Consisting of 11-tracks, the EP features the vocals of talented singers, Star Amerasu and Summer Wiebe along with live drum arrangements by Kevin Hoetger. "Though They Try," the first single begins with a reenactment of a 1964 interview of Malcolm X by CBS anchor Mike Wallace; Malcolm was murdered shortly thereafter, now over 50 years ago. Theo's eloquent words dance between three time periods during the accompanying music video: 1960s, 1990s, and 2015. But never have his words been more appropriate than now.

As the viewer glimpses images from days past, we're reminded that not much has changed in American race relations since Malcolm said, "You can't be a black man in America without a criminal record." News programs covering "civil unrest" in major urban centers have shown his words to be true. As the chorus begins to play, Star Amerasu sings, "the road is dark and the night is long," echoing a theme from her favorite character on HBO's Game of Thrones.

While Theo acknowledges that many have "paved the way" for him, he fully realizes that race, and more importantly, class remain daily struggles in America and around the world. So when the major scale motif begins during the second chorus (complete with snapping fingers), and Theo tells us to "just hold on," we believe him.
