Courtney Reum Appointed to Advisory Board of Native State Foods

LOS ANGELES - May 6, 2015 - PRLog -- Santa Monica, CA (May 6, 2015) – Native State Foods today announced the appointment of Courtney Reum as an advisory board member.   Native State Foods is a consumer packaged food company that will be the first to introduce pinole, an ancient Aztec hot cereal, to the U.S. commercial market.

Reum is an innovative entrepreneur with a background in building great consumer products brands.   In 2007, he and his brother founded VEEV Spirits, which introduced a line of acai-infused vodka products.  It is currently one of the best-selling independent liquor brands in the U.S., and VEEV LLC was ranked among the 250 fastest growing companies and brands in the U.S. by Inc. Magazine (September 2011).

Courtney began his career as an investment banker at Goldman Sachs in New York working with such brands as Proctor & Gamble, Under Armour and Vitamin Water.

Courtney has been honored by several entrepreneurial publications such as the “30 Under 30” list, the Inc. 500 “Fastest Growing Companies in America,” Richard Branson’s bestselling book “Screw Business As Usual,” and most recently the Goldman Sachs Builders + Innovators 100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs.  He is also an active member of the Young President’s Organization (YPO) both locally in Los Angeles and internationally.  Courtney grew up in Chicago and holds a B.A. with distinction (Economics and Philosophy) from Columbia University in New York and is an alumni of Harvard Business School.

Courtney will join Dan MacCombie (Co-Founder & CEO of Runa) and Tim Avila (Co-Founder of ZSweet) on the advisory board.

Native State Foods’ Purely Pinole product line is expected to be available online in the Spring of 2015 and in retail by the end of the year.
