Wilson Beach Radio Marathon to Air Saturday, May 9th on Surf 97.3 FM

May 6, 2015 - PRLog -- Wilson Beach Radio, a weekly one-hour radio show which focuses on the music of The Beach Boys, Brian Wilson, and friends, celebrates the airing of its 100^th episode this weekend with a “Beach Party” special and an eight-hour marathon of shows on Saturday, May 9^th on Surf 97.3 FM in Flagler Beach, Florida.

The marathon begins at Noon Eastern time (9 a.m. Pacific) and features seven of the show’s most popular past episodes from 2013, 2014, and earlier this year.  The eighth and final show of the marathon, which airs at 7 p.m. Eastern (4 p.m. Pacific) will be the new “Beach Party” special, featuring music from The Beach Boys, Jan & Dean, The Go Gos, The Ramones, Jeffrey Foskett, The Raspberries, and more, including a number of songs from the beach party movies of the 1960s.

“We are so pleased that our affiliate Surf 97.3 FM will be devoting an eight-hour block of their broadcast day on Saturday, May 9^th to Wilson Beach Radio,” said Jeff Bleiel, the show’s host and producer.  “The station has been a great supporter of the show over the past two years, and we had fun going through the archives and selecting some of our favorite past episodes to play again, prior to debuting our new 100^th episode beach party special.”

The Wilson Beach Radio marathon will include shows featuring interviews with Al Jardine of The Beach Boys and Steve Boone of The Lovin’ Spoonful, as well as shows featuring music from the years 1965 and 1967, and a recent show spotlighting tracks from Brian Wilson’s new CD “No Pier Pressure.”

Artists heard throughout the marathon will include The Beach Boys, Brian Wilson, Carl Wilson, Al Jardine, Jan & Dean, The Honeys, Paul Revere & The Raiders, The Rip Chords, Chicago, Glen Campbell, Joan Jett, Van Dyke Parks, Lesley Gore, Elton John, Fun, Wilson Phillips, The Cowsills, and The Supremes.
