New York Community Bank Roslyn Savings Bank Support ADRC By Naming May Alzheimer’s Awareness Month

BAY SHORE, N.Y. - May 6, 2015 - PRLog -- Alzheimer’s Disease Resource Center (http://www.adrcinc.org/), Inc. is pleased to announce that Roslyn Savings Bank, a division of New York Community Bank (NYCB), has designated the month of May as “Alzheimer’s Awareness Month.”

During the month of May, the bank will be distributing 10,000 Walk For Alzheimer’s® sneaker circles to its 83 locations in Queens, Nassau, and Suffolk Counties. With the help of the community, Roslyn Savings Bank will help ADRC increase awareness of the disease and raise funds for the Presenting Sponsorship for this year’s Walks For Alzheimer’s®, scheduled for Sunday, August 9th, 2015 and Saturday, October 17th, 2015.

NYCB has played an important role in fundraising for ADRC and raising awareness of Alzheimer’s disease and its impact on those afflicted by it and their loved ones. This is an issue that is close to home for NYCB/Roslyn Savings Bank Senior Vice President and Retail Banking Regional Executive Virginia Belling, who had a parent who suffered from the disease.

“My dad had Alzheimer’s disease, so I know firsthand the challenges Long Island families face caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease,” says Ms. Belling. “On behalf of New York Community Bank, I would like to thank our branch staff for helping to raise money and awareness for this disease.”

For the past six years, the bank has donated their time, as well as thousands of dollars, to ADRC. NYCB’s Roslyn Savings Bank Division employees will also participate in this year’s Walk for Alzheimer’s and raise additional funds to help support programs and services for local families with a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease.
