AMMAN, Jordan - May 6, 2015 - PRLog -- The South Asia–Middle East–North Africa region’s SAMENA Telecommunications Council today announced that it will host the “Beyond Connectivity 2015” summit in Doha on 11 May 2015.

To be held under the theme, “Meeting the Digital Agenda: “Maximizing Telcos’ Revenues through Harmonized Excellence”, the day-long summit at the Ritz Carlton West Bay Lagoon will gather senior decision-makers from the region’s leading telecom operators such as Vodafone Qatar and Ooredoo, technology providers, government and industry bodies.

The “Beyond Connectivity” summit comes at a time when telcos around the region are under considerable pressure to maintain profit and revenue growth amid the telecommunications industry’s continued journey into the digital age.

“Digitization is blurring the boundaries between telecommunications and mass media, creating new business opportunities for operators while at the same time putting intense pressure on prices and margins,” said Bocar BA-CEO, SAMENA Telecommunications Council. “The ‘Beyond Connectivity’ summit aims to provide a platform for telecom industry stakeholders to come together and assess where we collectively stand with regard to the digital agenda we have set for ourselves, and identify ways in which we can foster greater collaboration and increase our revenues in a telecommunications landscape that is constantly evolving.”

Roundtable discussions at the summit will focus on key market developments against the background of the challenges and opportunities facing operators in sustaining revenue growth such as the need for new spectrum, enhanced cooperation across content stakeholders, international mobile roaming regulations, and emerging trends in the sphere of satellite broadband.

The summit will also discuss the positions of Arab countries on critical industry issues ahead of the World Radiocommunication Conference 2015 (WRC-15) to be held in Geneva, Switzerland in November this year.

Presentations and roundtable discussions at the summit will be followed by a gala dinner for attendees hosted by Vodafone Qatar.
