Newly Refurbished Lodges from andBeyond

MANHATTAN, N.Y. - May 14, 2015 - PRLog -- andBeyond Serengeti Grumeti Tented Camp has received a fresh new look that has made it one of the most luxurious lodges in the Western Serengeti. When combined with the camp’s location in a remote area, its exceptional year-round resident wildlife and its proximity to a dramatic river crossing point for the Great Migration, Grumeti is now one of the region’s most exclusive safari destinations.

Inspired by the Great Migration, the camp’s new look combines wildebeest grey with natural stone and bone, as well as bleached cypress. The ten guest tents have been repositioned to provide views of the river and its resident pod of hippo, with convenient sliding doors allowing easy access to private decks. Updated bathrooms include natural stone shower towers for al fresco bathing. Each suite also includes a butler’s lobby for discrete service.

Restructured guest areas, with an extended deck creates more space for outdoor dining, with the dining area now flowing into a traditional African boma, or outdoor cooking area.

The camp’s new family suite can accommodate up to two adults and three children in two adjoining safari tents connected with a covered walkway. Separate entrances maintain privacy, while the walkway provides safe and convenient access between tents.

Exceptional year round game viewing, with the open plains attracting cheetah and large prides of lion and hyena clans of up to a hundred. Leopard and lion are found in the riverside thickets, which are also home to pied colobus monkeys found nowhere else in the Serengeti. The area is also the setting for East Africa’s secret migration, the annual movement of exceptionally large numbers of topi antelope.
