DENBIGH, Wales - May 5, 2015 - PRLog -- Learners and staff invited Chris Ruane, Labour parliamentary candidate for the Vale of Clwyd and The Chair of Denbighshire County Council, Councillor Brian Blakeley took part in the official ribbon cutting ceremony on 17th April.

The new fully-accessible buildings comprise 3 classrooms, a sensory room and changing area, and have been named Onnen - Ash, Helyg - Willow and Ywen - Yew after the trees in the woodland.

The build has taken just over 2 months but the planning and development started over two years ago. TG Escapes design and build innovative and bespoke eco-classrooms and buildings that encourage environmental citizenship and educational exploration by reconnecting learners with nature.

Richard Harvey MD at TG Escapes, www.tgescapes.co.uk, said "This has been a thoroughly enjoyable project, especially as it's our first with The Cambian Group. We are proud to be supporting young people with learning disabilities.  We know, from experience, that the learners will find their Eco-friendly Learning Escape to be an inspiring environment and a huge step change from their previous temporary classrooms. We are particularly pleased that the building will provide easy access to the outdoors and fantastic natural views because we know that connecting with nature has a huge impact on general health and well-being."

Tina Ruane, Principal at Cambian Pengwern College said “We’re thrilled to be able to provide our learners with such a great learning environment, we’ve been planning this for some time and it’s wonderful to see their reactions.”

Thomas Armstrong, a member of the Student Council said “It was great to meet Chris and find out more about him being parliamentary candidate for the Vale of Clwyd, he’s a bit like me, I love being on Student Council and helping people!”

Chris Ruane said “`it’s wonderful to see the college going from strength to strength, I have enjoyed visiting here many times over the years and it’s great to see the impact that this new learning environment will have on all the learners.

With strong leadership and a positive attitude from all the staff and students, I expect to hear more exciting developments from here again soon”.
