Follow on Google News | Wellspring and the Arch Bridge School Builds New Arts and Athletics CenterBy: Wellspring Wellspring has been providing services and solutions for individuals struggling with emotional, educational and family issues for 38 years. The Arch Bridge School is nearing its 25th anniversary of providing education, including college preparation, to students for grades 1-12. Last year they served over thirty Connecticut school districts. This new Arts and Athletics Center is an invaluable upgrade to Wellspring’s campus and will help them better serve students, clients and families locally and throughout the region. It will also allow an enhanced experience for those they serve with performing arts, along with physical exercise and recreation, which are integral pieces to the healing process. The new space will also aid Wellspring and the Arch Bridge School’s training and support for local school districts, health care providers, parents and families. Wellspring and the Arch Bridge School has consulted with and trained more than a dozen local school districts through their SEEDS (Special Education Enhancement and Development Series) program in partnership with the Connecticut Community Foundation. “This new construction will truly be a center on our campus and meet so many needs for the young people and families we serve,” CEO Dan Murray, Psy.D. said. “We hope to finish construction early this summer and to begin using the building and classrooms this fall.” We also remind folks that we are a not for profit organization and they can make a tax deductible contribution to help support this great project!” The new 7,400 square foot building, built by Burlington Construction of Torrington, Connecticut has a barn-like design, fitting in with the rural architecture on campus and includes: · An Indoor Recreational Center for large groups, performances, special events, trainings, and sports · A multi-use room for conferences, art exhibits and dining space for day students · A fully equipped Exercise Room · Classrooms for the Elementary School students · Office space for teachers · A Group Room and support spaces Director of Education at the Arch Bridge School, Ralph Scafariello shared, “The entire school community is eagerly looking forward to the opening of the Arts and Athletic Center as it will provide many options for our staff and students.
