Dr. Jon S. Petrick D.C. Named Medical Director For The Las Vegas Lions Football Team

LAS VEGAS - May 4, 2015 - PRLog -- Dr. Jon S. Petrick, Clinical Director of the Las Vegas Pain Relief Center,  has been named as the head of a team of physicians for the minor league football team, the Las Vegas Lions.

         Dr. Petrick and LVPRC will provide comprehensive medical treatment, physical therapy, massages, and other pain relieve services to keep players healthy to help their return to the field.

         “I’m very excited for the opportunity to work with the team. I will be bringing advanced knowledge in the areas of injury treatment, prevention and vast amounts of field experience at the highest level,” said Dr. Petrick.

         Under the ownership of Jeff Belknap and Bill Miller, the Lions are a part of the AAA Professional Football League (APFL), a new developmental league with the ground-breaking Player Compensation Plan, which will not just provide a player stipend, but full medical and health coverage for each teams’ roster players. The league’s goal is to help develop players who seek NFL, CFL, or AFL discovery, while building employment and opportunities around them.

      “Our medical team will be evaluating each player with the Functional Movement Screen (FMS). It allows our team to accurately determine how each individual athlete or player moves and where their weaknesses are which allows us to improve their performance,” said Dr. Petrick. “We hope that our system with its advanced protocols, will be the standard for all teams in the league.”

      This is not Dr. Petrick’s first foray into sports. His reputation and the success of his practice has earned him appearances on 14 seasons of the FOX Sports’ Ultimate Fighter Championship (UFC) reality TV show, the Toronto Blue Jays (Las Vegas 51’s) and with Jay Cutler, the four- time Mr. Olympia.
