Follow on Google News | Greater Morgantown CVB Celebrating National Travel & Tourism Week With GiveawaysBy: Greater Morgantown Convention and Visitors Bureau “This week, we are celebrating what travel means to our community,” said Peggy Myers-Smith, GMCVB President/CEO, “and we call on everyone – from elected officials to local residents – to join us in saluting this important industry.” The GMCVB staff will be on-site with a mobile information center (MIC) at the I-68 welcome center giving out mini buckwheat cakes with syrup and sausage Monday, May 4. They’ll also be handing out pepperoni rolls with music from a live dulcimer player at the I-79 welcome center Wednesday, May 6. Refreshments will also be available all week in the GMCVB’s three locations, as well as daily giveaways of GMCVB gear including post-it notes, water bottles, tire gauges, magnetic clips and glass cleaner cloths. Guests coming in have the opportunity to register to win an “Ultimate Greater Morgantown Prize Giveaway” including tickets and gift cards to area event and attractions. Facebook fans are encouraged to share their photos celebrating NTTW and visitors stopping by can pick up a portable, paper version of the GMCVB’s groundhog mascot called “Flat Mo” to take photos with and share on social media using #FlatMO.
