Alice Sweet Alice’s New Single “A Letter From Michigan” Commands the Charts!

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - May 1, 2015 - PRLog -- Kansas City, MO—Innovative and critically-acclaimed Alternative Rock group Alice Sweet Alice has announced that is their latest single “A Letter From Michigan” has hit all the right notes with the National Airplay charts, according to Digital Radio Tracker. This announcement comes on the heels of the meteoric success of their single “M.I.A.”…which also commanded impressive rankings on this prestigious chart.

And just like the poignant storyline behind their hit “M.I.A.”, “A Letter From Michigan” also features a “human interest” backstory. “A Letter From Michigan” is based upon a true story from bandleader Scott Martinez’s personal experiences. The song recalls Martinez’s time with a former band in the San Francisco Bay area and a touching letter he received from a young boy in Michigan, pleading for Martinez and his then band, Autumn Cathedral, to visit his school. The boy—whose name is Alan Cohen—even provided a petition signed by his classmates and the school’s staff.

According to Martinez, “When I first wrote this song and lyrics, I imagined somebody like Alan finding a copy of the album from a band he had admired many years earlier, and the story develops from there. I also recalled my OWN obsession with bands of my youth--of finding "heroes" from their music, and how these bands become the soundtrack of my life and a way of coping with my own coming of age--and ME writing such a letter. It is a story not unfamiliar to most music lovers, and this song was fashioned around that concept.”

Missouri-based Alice Sweet Alice consists of original founding members, Scott Martinez (bass, vocals), and Ali Kat (piano, vocals), and has recently added to its lineup, new band members Chris Poje (Drums), Natalya Wren, (Keys/Vocals/Violin), Ryan Shaddix (Guitar) and Timothy Flanery (Guitars).
