Huffords Jewelry Collects Donations for Lydia’s House at Pre- Mother’s Day Event

CLAYTON, Mo. - May 1, 2015 - PRLog -- The sad truth is that 1 in 4 women will experience domestic violence in their lifetime. Huffords Jewelry joined together with Lydia’s House, a local shelter helping women and children escape domestic violence, to host a Pre-Mother’s Day Benefit Brunch. The event featured live music, a catered brunch, beverages, and of course beautiful jewelry. The Mother’s Day Brunch brought in over $1,000 in donation items to the women and children of Lydia’s House.

“Our customers were beyond generous with their donation items, we had piles of cleaning supplies, bags of diapers, toys for the children and several personal checks,” said Dan Hufford, president of Huffords Jewelry. “We are so grateful for our customers who helped us support this great organization.”

100% of proceeds from the event were donated to Lydia’s House, as well as donation items attendees brought from the Lydia’s House Wish List. All who brought a Wish List donation were entered into a drawing to win a diamond Circle of Life pendant valued at $2,000.

“It was inspiring to see how many people came out to support the women and children of Lydia’s House,” said Dan. “Mother’s Day is a time for us to honor our mother’s and the important women in our lives. We are thrilled so many people came out to join us and celebrate those women as well as empower those at Lydia’s House.”
