Follow on Google News | Leonard Street Car Show remains on the fast trackColonial Courtyard at Clearfield to host 7th annual event on May 17
By: IntegraCare The 7th annual Leonard Street Car and Bike Show will be held on May 17 at the circle where the construction of the new Colonial Courtyard at Clearfield senior living community continues. The show, which benefits the Alzheimer’s Association, will be held rain or shine. Vehicle entry fee is $5. “We’re excited to continue this great event,” said Sandy English, Director of Sales and Marketing at Colonial Courtyard at Clearfield. “We faced a lot of adversity and still maintained the tradition last year, our first show after the fire. The show just gets better and better.” Colonial Courtyard at Clearfield was destroyed by a lightning-related fire on June 25, 2013. Last year’s show was held in the circle near the site of the former building, which had been demolished to make way for the ongoing construction of the new building. “We are eager to see which cars and bikes will participate in the show this year,” English said. “It’s a lot of fun and it’s a very nice community event that raises money for a great cause.” Registration will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on May 17. Pre-registration may be done at www.leonardstreetcarandbikeshow.weebly.com. Cars and bikes may enter 21 different classes. Judging will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m., and awards will be announced at 3. Last year more than 50 vehicles registered for the show, and the event raised $925 for the Alzheimer’s Association through the registration fee, a basket raffle, 50-50 tickets and concessions. Prior to the 2013 fire, residents, their family members and staff at Colonial Courtyard at Clearfield attended the car show. English expects that tradition to resume next spring after the official opening of the new Colonial Courtyard at Clearfield building. “We missed the residents at last year’s show and will miss them again this year,” English said. “We really can’t wait until the new building opens and the residents move in.” The new Colonial Courtyard at Clearfield is expected to open this fall.
