Child Abuse Prevention Center Raises $160,000 to Help Children Threatened by Family Violence

ANAHEIM, Calif. - April 30, 2015 - PRLog -- The Child Abuse Prevention Center, Orange County’s leading not-for-profit exclusively aimed at preventing child abuse, hosted its 17th Annual Bright Futures Celebration on April 18, 2015 at the Island Hotel, Newport Beach, California.  Nearly 300 business and community leaders joined together to raise $160,000 to prevent child abuse for at-risk families living in Orange County.

Celebrities and community leaders in attendance included Senator John Moorlach; Richard Mirman, CEO and publisher of the OC Register; Matt Scioscia, son of Mike Scioscia of the Los Angeles Angels, and Darryl Evans of the LA Kings.

"Without the tremendous contributions of so many sponsors, supporters, and volunteers, our Bright Futures Celebration could not have been a success.  As a result of the funds raised, the Prevention Center can continue to provide child abuse prevention education programs to Orange County families who are at the greatest risk of abuse."

Featured auction packages included: 7-night stay in a villa in San Jose Del Cabo, Mexico; a one-week stay in a beautiful Carmel studio overlooking Big Sur Coast; a shopping spree and private dinner at Black, Starr & Frost; an in-home dining experience with wine pairing for eight from David Wilhelm, iconic local chef-restaurateur; and a pair of Lakers’ official team shoes signed by Kobe Bryant with two tickets to a Lakers game.
