Sony leaks: Verance unable to stop CinEx HD

Leaks from Sony confirm that Verance, the maker of Cinavia, is still searching fruitlessly for countermeasures for CinEx HD, one of the top Blu-Ray disc cloning software programs. Besides that a decrypter company has stolen an old and unsafe Cinavia disabling technology from the makers of CinEx HD and is now confronted with Cinavia re-enabling loopholes.

SILICON VALLEY, Calif. - April 30, 2015 - PRLog -- CinEx HD is one of the top Blu-Ray disc cloning software programs. CinEx HD has been used for years by some of the industry’s top experts in video technology. The program allows users to clone Blu-Ray discs without having to compromise on video or audio quality.

Last week Myce.com published some leaked documents from Sony (Wikileaks) which once again prove that CinEx HD not only has the best quality while removing the audio watermark Cinavia but also is the most future proof among other solutions as its algorithms cannot be countered by the producer of Cinavia, Verance.

The leaks show some information about our solution which was mixed up with DVD-Ranger – another product from us which is not the same as CinEx HD. Besides the confusion about our products Sony also unintentionally acknowledges that our solution has no viable counterattack and makes some guesses about our technology. The leaked documents are dated back to March 2014 and at this time it was possible to read the same information in many internet discussion boards. So is the leaked information important?

Sony’s guess is that we replace the audio with an unmarked version which was also suggested several times in some internet boards. This is a nice try from Sony but we do actually only remove the marker itself and do not replace the audio. There are some clues still left in the audio which indicate that Cinavia might have been there as for example the time warp effect which Verance uses to hack-proof their marker. Although requiring fairly sophisticated technologies and years of experience, truly removing the marker is the one and only future proof solution which we are able to offer via CinEx HD and it cannot be compared in any way to the many ideas present in the internet boards.

Since 2012 Pixbyte is the market leader in removing Cinavia. Our technology is well established among our partners but unfortunately a decrypting company has purchased an old and unsafe version of our technology from an unauthorized third party, a fact which is also called stealing. The unsafe technology was purchased from a developer who claimed to be a former employee of Verance and who spread some mysterious stories about him in the internet. In 2013 we sent him a small solution to verify his knowledge. He failed at that time but it seems he was able to sell this later as his own work.

We have informed the decrypting company about their use of our technology without permission but unfortunately the decrypting company completely denied co-operation in that matter. As a consequence we decided to publish a proof on our website that shows how to re-enable Cinavia in their solution. As they are using our unsafe technology we know very well how to use its loopholes and re-enable Cinavia again on copies made with their solution. We were also able to show the exact parameters and effects they are using. After continuing to deny co-operation we have published our stolen unsafe technology under GPL on sourceforge.net. Now everyone can use our proof-software to create Cinavia disabled files, compare them to the decrypting company solution and make up his own mind. Also everyone can re-enable the Cinavia signal in the decrypting company's output using the same proof-software. We have also published a video where people can compare the unsafe technology from the decrypting company which was stolen from us and the GPL wobble effect in order to see that both are the same.

The decision to publish our old unsafe technology was not an easy one as we are aware that it will cause two negative consequences for the customers of the unsafe technology: first, having access to the source code Verance is now also able to analyze the unsafe technology and protect their Cinavia watermark against it and second the end user will see that he was cheated because the Cinavia marker is still present. In comparison to CinEx HD which completely removes Cinavia, the stolen unsafe technology which we call SoundTouch just hides Cinavia and after Verance will have fixed their detector all copies will show Cinavia again.

CinEx HD is thus the only solution that works perfectly with 3 years of technology experience by enabling our customers to clone Cinavia-encumbered BDs with unprecedented audio quality.
