The Art Of Gem Natural Hair & Styling Studio To Do $150 Giveaway During Master Class

ATLANTA - April 30, 2015 - PRLog -- LaJoyce Smith-Waajid is the owner of The Art Of Gem Natural Hair and Styling Studio, Henry County's first natural haircare establishment. Smith-Waajid will be holding a two-day master class starting on June 28, 2015 dedicated to styling faux locs and loc extension hairstyles.

Smith-Waajid will walk participants through creating loc hairstyles, best practices for natural hair businesses and discussions on client retention.  There will be several giveaways along with a grand prize of $150 in cash to one master class attendee.

Smith-Waajid has successfully merged haircare and fashion over the years and aims to paint the world natural!

About LaJoyce Smith-Waajid:

Smith-Waajiid attended the Dekalb Technical College cosmetology program in 1992 while working as a shampoo assistant. She finished in 1995 and had already worked at various salons as a booth renter, however she was unfulfilled because her passion was to paint the world natural!  As fate would have it, she became vegan and obtained her certification in colon hydrotherapy and desperately sought to merge the two industries. She started working under the guidance of Taliah Waajid, who later became my sister in law. The demand for her creative styles grew, which lead to her opening her first salon and boutique in the historic west end Atlanta. Smith-Waajid began to do platform work and immersed herself into providing celebrity styling for artists such as Wale, while adding wardrobe and hair to resume working on several independent films.  Smith-Waajid now owns The Art Of Gem, Henry County's FIRST natural haircare studio in Georgia.
