New Food Plants Mean New Delivery Challenges and Opportunities Reports Magline

April 29, 2015 - PRLog -- Delivering Excellence newsletter is reporting weekly how food and beverage trends are changing the growth of various programs and organizations.  The current issue shared that Food Engineering reported a strong list of new food plant openings throughout the rest of 2015.

Rembrandt Enterprises is planning an $87 million expansion of its facility in Waterloo, IA. The egg processing facility will include a large-scale pasteurizer, pasteurization rooms and liquid and dry packaging equipment.

Tyson Foods will be investing $110 million over the next year to add 100,000 sq. ft. to its poultry processing operations in Vienna, VA. The company expects to create 500 new jobs.

Herbalife, a nutritional products manufacturer, opened a new 800,000-sq.-ft. innovation and manufacturing facility in Winston-Salem, NC, which is expected to employ more than 500 people by the end of this year.

Big Heart Pet Brands will build a 70,000-sq.-ft. packaging facility in Topeka, KS. The expansion will be built on its current site or nearby, creating a total of 314,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing operations.

White Labs, provider of yeast and related products, will open a new facility in Buncombe County, NC. The company is investing $8 million over the next five years.

John Morrell Food Group, a member of the Smithfield Foods family of companies, plans to build a meat distribution center in Greenfield, IN. Valued at $44 million, the DC is expected to begin operations by the end of this year.

KeHE Distributors will open a 450,000-sq.-ft. distribution center in Stockton, CA.
