The Grauer School Offers Summer Enrichment Camps and For-Credit Courses

2015 Summer camps announced at The Grauer School inclusive from 4th-12th grade

ENCINITAS, Calif. - April 28, 2015 - PRLog -- Encinitas, CA – The Grauer School is expanding its summer program to include additional enrichment camps. Students can devote time to art or dabble in music at the school FINE Magazine readers voted “San Diego’s Finest School for the Performing Arts.” The enrichment camps are inclusive to students as young as fourth grade and have art camps that include adults. The Grauer School is continuing to offer a diverse set of UC approved summer school courses for high school and college-bound students looking to get ahead this summer. Virtually all classes can be offered in an independent studies format to accommodate busy summer schedules.

Summer School Co-Coordinator, Nick Scacco, encourages students and parents to think open-mindedly about summer school and The Grauer School’s Summer Session. “Summer school is no longer just for students who need to repeat a class. It’s a time to get ahead or explore a creative outlet. Taking a summer school course for academic credit can free up a period during the regular school year for a fun elective or lighten your workload if you have a lot of extracurricular commitments.”

Core classes include: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, World History and U.S. History. Classes are teacher-led with a defined pace of completion. A full semester is condensed into three weeks, therefore demanding personal motivation and autonomous work capabilities on behalf of the student in order to successfully complete each course. A number of the courses offer content blended with independent, online sources for students to work on outside of school.

For middle school students, The Grauer School Summer Session offers kick-start boot camps to prevent learning loss over the summer with topics including Middle School Math, Algebra 1, Geometry, Spelling, Study Skills, Science and Geography.

Scacco adds, “One of The Grauer School’s core tenets is expeditionary learning. One of the best ways to experience this value, which makes our particular college prep environment so unique, is to take advantage of one of our one- to two-week enrichment programs. You get access to one-on-one attention from our teachers and understand what relationship-driven education is all about.”

One- to two-week enrichment courses such as poetry, math, drawing, and painting are available throughout the summer. Workshops are also available for music performance; and music theory.

This year’s summer sessions are scheduled to run from June 22rd to July 10th and July 13th through July 31st. Visit The Grauer School’s website for enrichment camp dates. Priority enrollment is open now through April 13th and includes a 5% reduction in fees. Descriptions of classes, fees, transfer credits, prerequisites, and the enrollment application can be located at www.grauerschool.com/summerschool. The Summer Session at The Grauer School is enrolling students in grades 4-12.
