I Can Do It: Independence and Responsibility at Home from Toddler to Teen

Join Montessori teachers Judy Conroy and Grail Kearney as they discuss how to prepare your home environment to foster independence and responsibility. At the Oliver Wolcott Library on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 from 2:00- 3:00 p.m.
 
LITCHFIELD, Conn. - April 28, 2015 - PRLog -- Join Montessori teachers Judy Conroy and Grail Kearney as they discuss how to prepare your home environment to foster independence and responsibility. Activities of daily living will be explored along with great tips for preparing your home to foster independent activity.      Suggestions for child-size furniture, utensils and tools that really perform a function, practical guides for chores and even pet care will be discussed. Help your child, whether a toddler or a teen, to help themselves to a host of wonderful every day activities that will help them to experience a sense of success and contribution to the family circle.

Grail Kearney received her Elementary Montessori training from Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) in Bergamo, Italy in 1989. She has taught both Lower and Upper Elementary levels at a number of Connecticut Montessori schools, and currently teaches at Litchfield Montessori School.

Judy Conroy has been a member of the Litchfield Montessori School community for the last eight years teaching primarily in the Children’s House, where she is also Co-Directress, and in the Toddler and Aftercare environments. Twice a year, she also hosts presentations to ECE students at Naugatuck Valley Community College.
