Sophie Davis School Health Fair Provides Free Medical Services for Community

Health Fair in Harlem Brings Together an Amazing Assortment of Community Aid
 
NEW YORK - April 27, 2015 - PRLog -- The Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education celebrate their Annual Health Fair for children and families from the community Saturday, May 2nd at the City College of New York from 10am -4pm.  The Sophie Davis Heath Fair, open to the public, will have Physicians and medical students performing free medical, dental, and eye checkups, including, blood pressure measurements, blood sugar tests, and HIV tests.

In Arms Reach has worked in collaboration with Sophie Davis for 14 years serving low income children with a primary focus on children impacted by the justice system providing mentoring; educational interventions, career and college preparation. On Saturday In Arms Reach will be demonstrating some of the medical education their children have received up at the College.

The Foundation’s board member Dr. David Levine will also be in attendance. Dr. Levine has been practicing in the New Jersey/New York metropolitan area for nearly 20 years; he specializes in the treatment of chronic and severe pain.  His patients include NBA and NFL Hall of Famers as well as World Champion Boxers. He also donates his time and expertise to U.S. military personnel suffering acute and chronic pain and those returning home from Iraq and Afghanistan with post-war injuries. This year’s Health Fair will be another great opportunity for these organizations to again demonstrate their longstanding commitment to serving the community.
