There’s a financial Tsunami rushing towards our country and it’s called The Boomer Generation. We are the longest living and largest generation in history!

Because of this we stand poised to do one of two things:

1. Devastate this country financially and emotionally with our growing care needs, or

2. Live an empowered aging processes where we stay relevant, contributing, and active and engaged through our entire life span.

I developed the Live Long Be Strong conference to give people the information they need to create option 2.Most people approach aging with an "I hope" stance or a "bury my head in the sand and not think about it" stance. Both of them are based on the misunderstanding that comes from the frame of reference that we have no control over what happens as we age.

         My name is Victoria Savage RN. I've been a practicing RN for 23 years, most of which was spent working with the aged, and during that time I began to see that much of what caused decline in people could have been prevented if they knew what was happening and how to address it. 4 years ago I opened my own business called  Care for Living, a care management company and I began teaching the families with aging loved ones how to identify risk factors that contribute to unnecessary decline, and what to do to nullify those risks.

         Along the way I found myself hoping that the families, primarily the Boomer generation, would "get" it. That they would see how these same things will hold true for  them as they age and that if they begin to address them now, they can avoid some of the same pitfalls that plagued their parents. I also realized that I had an underlying worry. As the largest, longest living generation in history, we can very well expect two things:

1. The healthcare system will not be able to withstand our care needs, and

2. The burden of those needs will fall on our families.

This Live Long Be Strong conference is designed to educate Boomers as to where our power over aging lies, what we can do today to start creating tomorrows that we can look forward to being part of, and how this will bring about positive change not only in our country, but to our families and the world.
