LOGAN, Ohio - April 24, 2015 - PRLog -- With miles and miles of hill-hugging, twisting, turning roads and massive elevations, driving enthusiasts have long flocked to Ohio's Hocking Hills to enjoy some of the most beautiful drives in the Midwest. In fact, Car and Driver (http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/2014-aston-martin-vanquish-road-test-video) and Road & Track (http://www.roadandtrack.com/car-culture/features/a6422/2015-road-and-track-performance-car-of-the-year/) magazines test drive new models in these Hills.

Thus, the Hocking Hills Tourism Association is pleased to announce a new event sure to captivate fans of the road. Cruise Hocking, slated for May 29-31, will feature a series of carefully plotted loops and routes allowing car aficionados to experience their favorite vehicle's best performance on the area’s gorgeous winding roads and against the backdrop of its rushing waterfalls, craggy caves and stunning rock formations.  Registration is $40 until May 1 ($50 after May 1) and includes admission to all activities; breakfast Saturday and Sunday; dinner Saturday; and Farewell Lunch on Sunday. Proceeds benefit Friends of Hocking Hills State Park, organization dedicated to improving Park features and preserving it for the enjoyment of future generations.  Registration and detailed information are available at CruiseHocking.com (http://www.explorehockinghills.com/activities/cruisehocki...).

“We’re thrilled to present travelers with yet another unique way to explore the Hocking Hills,” said Hocking Hills Tourism Association Executive Director Karen Raymore. “The beautiful  byways and our fun-to-drive road will provide drivers with an unforgettable experience, along with hikes through the renowned Hocking Hills State Park.”

Nearly a dozen planned routes will help participants experience area drives throughout the weekend, each offering activities unique to the Hocking. The routes feature dramatic elevation changes, scenic views and curvy twists. Circleville Raceway Park will allow attendees to put their vehicles to the test on a bona fide motorsports track. In addition, Cruise Hocking will close down Main Street in Downtown Logan to offer attendees a night filled with live music, delicious locally made food and prizes. Other events include Saturday’s Show-n-Shine Car Show and Sunday’s Farewell Lunch.

“The Hocking Hills is the ideal place to experience the full capabilities of a car or bike,” said Cedar Grove Lodging Owner Keven Claus, a Miata club member who spearheaded the event. “The combination of world-class roads, dazzling scenic sites, and the food and music we have planned will make for an unforgettable weekend.”

Once they park and explore the area, attendees can snap extraordinary photos during a hike to Old Man’s Cave, the spot that legend says hermit Richard Rowe once called home. Visitors can take a break from the road to enjoy the area’s fresh air and spectacular landscape with an easy hike to Ash Cave or a longer trek to Cedar Falls or around Conkle’s Hollow – or any of the area’s many other gorgeous natural features.  More adventure is offered with a wealth of activities, including guided rappelling, zipline canopy tours, off-road Segway tours, belly boat fishing, kayaking, horseback riding, golf and spas. Other great stops include unique shops tucked away in the woods, tours of the last working washboard factory in America, one of the region's largest antique and flea market and more.

Located 40 miles southeast of Columbus, Ohio, Hocking Hills region offers once-in-a-lifetime experiences that make every day feel like Saturday, with plenty of free activities. The region boasts a wide variety of affordable lodging, from camping, cabins and cottages to hotels and inns.  In addition to hiking trails, parks and forests, the Hocking Hills is the Canopy Tour Capital of the Midwest, with more than 50 ziplines offered via three distinct guide services.  Unique gift and antique shops, canoeing, and more add to the allure of the Hocking Hills as the perfect place to unplug.
