4th Annual STEM & the Arts Career Showcase

COSTA MESA, Calif. - April 24, 2015 - PRLog -- Costa Mesa— 4/22/2015 —April 24-26, Vital Link in partnership with the OC Fair & Event Center, Imaginology will be hosting the 4^th annual STEM & the Arts Career Showcase.

The STEM & the Arts Career Showcase is a collaboration of corporate, education, and non-profit partners and exhibitors coming together to create an engaging and interactive career exploration experience emphasizing careers in science, technology, engineering, math (STEM), and the arts. This event gives local businesses the opportunity to share their latest technology and career opportunities with students throughout Southern California.

This year SunPower, a leader in the solar industry is proud to be the title sponsor of the event and will also be participating as an exhibitor.  SunPower which also partners with Vital Link to provide summer solar science academies will be providing an opportunity at the showcase for academy graduates to participate as presenters at their solar exhibit.  This is a prime example of the important impact local businesses can have on the youth.  The students participating will be using the skills they acquired from their time at the solar academy to instruct and educate others on the importance of alternate energy sources including solar, wind and water.

Airwolf 3D will also be a featured exhibitor showing off the latest in 3D printing technology– along with their exhibit Airwolf 3D has also contributed to the countywide competition, the OC Makers challenge, which gives students the opportunity to design new products or take every day items and either enhance them or adapt them to multiple uses.  With the help of Airwolf 3D printers in their classrooms, the students have printed their prototypes which will be on display for the duration of the showcase.

American Career College, another featured exhibitor, will be demonstrating new and exciting medical technology and will interact with the students to help them explore the many medical careers available to them in the future.

Along with the event sponsors, other local corporations and agencies that are supporting this project include: Meguiar’s, QBE, SoCal Edison, CTEoc, OC Pathways and the Orange County Workforce Investment Board through grant funding from the U.S. Department of Labor Workforce Innovation Fund.  Vital Link and its partners, through collaboration are able to work together to honor Vital Link’s mission to be the link between business and education preparing students for a successful transition to a meaningful career.
