Soon he and his friends become the targets of numerous bizarre attacks and sleeping turns into a hazardous business again. Then the unthinkable happens: a direct attach in the waking world, which leaves the life of someone close hanging by a thread. The connection has been made and George and his friends identified as a threat. Dreams and reality then collide into a living nightmare as they launch a daring plan to save their friend and the right of everyone in the waking world to free dreaming.

About the Author:

Gavin Rees-Jones grew up in Warwickshire but now lives in the Welsh Borders where the rich local history and diverse landscape provides constant inspiration for his novels. Gavin explains that his goal is to write books for all children, whether they areeight or eighty years old. By combining his fascination with the natural world and the endless possibilities of science fiction and fantasy writing, he revisits the origins of myth and legend to reveal the unexpected hidden within the mundane. ‘No Archon, there must be another way. The Vortex is far too dangerous. We could lose more good friends that way.’ Jennie was horrified by the thought. ‘Archon, there must be another way for them to reach her.’

‘Well I can think of no other, besides, time is hardly on their side so there’s little point wasting it in second-guessing ourselves. They must leave immediately, before it is too late.’
