By: Pediatric Cancer Foundation GIVE HOPE WALK New York, N.Y. – Pediatric Cancer Foundation (PCF), a nonprofit organization that funds treatment, research acquisition of state-of-the- Walkathon Registration starts at 10:00am and the walk begins at 11:30am. Lee Goldberg, WABC-TV’s Eyewitness News Meteorologist and loyal friend to PCF will host the event. Hundreds of people are expected to participate in the five-mile walk through historic Riverside Park, which begins and ends at the West 79th Street Rotunda. A post-walk party with a live band, face painters, raffles, and refreshments will immediately follow the walk, as well as a 1:30pm Young Professionals Post Walk Celebration at the West 79th St. Boat Basin Café, next to the Rotunda. Advance registration online at pcfwalk.org is $50, Young Professionals $35 (21-35 years old) and children and teens $20. There will be an additional $5 fee for walk-in registration. All entrants will receive T-shirts and giveaways. Sponsors for the Walkathon include ABC7, Bloomingdale’ Participants can register to walk, see sponsors, track their progress, and get updates from the Walkathon by downloading the Pediatric Cancer Foundation app for iOS or Android or following the hashtags #givehopecure and #PCFwalk across all social media. Bonnie Shyer, President of Pediatric Cancer Foundation, remarks, “I am proud to be part of the spirit, commitment, and energy surrounding Pediatric Cancer Foundation’s Twenty First Annual Walkathon. We invite everyone to come together as teams or individuals and join us on April 26th to…hold the hand of a child and help make a difference in our combined fight against childhood cancer.” Contributions may also be sent to Pediatric Cancer Foundation, PO Box 785, Mamaroneck, NY 10543. For over 40 years Pediatric Cancer Foundation has helped fun advances in treatment, patient and parent care, state of the art research and equipment, and fellowships.
