Follow on Google News | Mother Hopes Small Business Will Help Education and Awareness of West Syndrome/Infantile SpasmsHerbs for Noah, a small home-based business started in Sugar Land TX by Jenny Ribbans, is hoping its campaign on GoFundMe will bring it some of the working capital it needs, and help fund education and awareness of a rare infant seizure disorder.
By: Herbs for Noah, LLC Jenny started making a natural, herbal and flower based spray to help Noah (and her) sleep under the great stress and side effects of the heavy medication. After selling the product, which she has called Dandelion Dreams, online (HerbsForNoah.com (http://www.herbsfornoah.com/)) "In order for us to become a supplier to major retailers we need some seed capital to help us pay for setting up the business", Said Jenny Ribbans "Buying liability insurance, supplies, packaging and equipment that we need to fulfill large orders, is a daunting prospect". So Ribbans decided to take to the Crowdfunding site GoFundMe.com to raise seed capital. She has also pledged to raise the contribution level to 15% of profits on the first $50,000 of sales through major retailers. The UTHealth Center of Excellence for West Syndrome Research focuses on the search for the causes of and the development of new treatments for children with West Syndrome. The Center also strives to increase awareness and become a central source of information for clinicians, researchers, parents, and individuals around the world. By making Dandelion Dreams more available through major outlets Jenny Ribbans, a single mom, hopes that her small home business can help support her Noah, at the same time increasing awareness of this potentially devastating condition.
